Despite Gaddafi regime’s cease fire declarations in compliance with the Security Council resolution, his forces continue to bombard Misurata, Zintan, Ajedabia, and now Yefren, with no mercy for the civilian populations in these cities. The defunct regime has also cut most services to these cities, including water supply, electricity supply, telephone and internet connections.
These actions, in addition to clearly being crimes against humanity, and may even rise to the level of war crimes, are also in clear violation of the security council resolution, and we strongly urge the international coalition to intervene to protect the civilians in these cities. An immediate aerial military action is required to destroy Gaddafi’s military assets engaged in laying siege to or attacking these cities in the west of Libya.
We implore the international community to condemn these acts of aggression on cities and towns throughout Libya.
